On the morning of June 21st,the 9th General Assembly of China Textile Machinery Association and the 9th Council was successfully held in Suzhou. China Textile Industry Federation, China Textile Machinery Association related leaders, textile machinery industry experts and hundreds of representatives attended the meeting. The meeting completed the collective leadership of the China Textile Machinery Association and elected Gu Ping as the ninth President of the Council of the China Textile Machinery Association.

Xu Yingxin, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation, said in his speech at the conference that the eighth Council of China Textile Machinery Association in the past five years, in the face of changes in the global textile industry, faced difficulties, carried out solid work and achieved remarkable results. He said that the current external environment is complex, the development of new quality productivity, building a modern industrial system is the key. First of all, the breakthrough of key equipment autonomy and the upgrade of data intelligence are the backbone of the development of new quality productivity, and we must keep up with the direction of scientific and technological innovation to achieve high-level scientific and technological self-reliance. Secondly, enhancing equipment support and innovation is the fundamental requirement for building a modern textile industrial system. The textile machinery industry takes the task of building a modern textile industrial system as a yardstick, strengthening the foundation, stabilizing the supply, emphasizing innovation, promoting upgrading, seeking opportunities, ensuring safety, and actively acting. Moreover, the scientific layout of the equipment manufacturing industry is an important strategic step for the textile industry to integrate into the new development pattern of the double cycle. The textile machinery industry should adhere to the domestic development as the foundation, build China into a global manufacturing and innovation center of advanced textile equipment, and orderly expand foreign cooperation.

Xu Yingxin said that the textile machinery industry is the cornerstone of the construction of a modern textile industrial system and has a heavy responsibility to shoulder. Gu Ping, President of China Textile Machinery Association, delivered a work report on behalf of the 8th Council. At present, the fixed assets of the textile machinery industry are 140 billion yuan, and the strength of the industry has been greatly enhanced. Domestic textile machinery products have maintained more than 75% of the domestic market share, textile machinery exports have been greater than imports since 2015, China's textile machinery output has ranked first in the world in 2019, and exports to the "Belt and Road" countries and regions have continued to grow, accounting for more than 3/4 of textile machinery exports. The influence of China's textile machinery has been further enhanced, and it has also provided an important support for the development of the global textile industry.

In the past five years, the industry has made remarkable achievements in scientific and technological innovation, made breakthroughs in intelligent production points, supported green environmental protection equipment, sustained development of low-carbon cycle, and frequently integrated cross-border highlights, which have become an important help for the construction of the modern textile industry system.

Gu Ping also summarized the work of the secretariat of the association. He said that since the eighth member Congress, the association has grasped the development direction of the industry, actively guided industrial policies, adhered to independent innovation in science and technology, promoted technological progress and development, and done a lot of work in building industry exhibition platforms, ensuring the development needs of the industry, promoting quality levels, strengthening industry information services, playing the role of media publicity, and playing the leading role of party building.

At this congress, Cong Zheng, Secretary General of China Textile Machinery Association, explained the amendment of the articles of association; At the meeting, the ninth council member and the executive director unit were elected, and Cong Zheng was recommended as the spokesman for the China Textile Machinery Association.

At the meeting, Gu Ping was elected as president by secret ballot, 26 people including Wan Haibin, Wang Anjian and Wang Jun were elected as vice presidents, 8 people including Sun Pingfan were specially invited vice presidents, and Cong Zheng was elected as secretary general.
